Will India’s Soft Power take on US’s Hard Power?

I was pondering after reading through the news item in the leading Indian daily, http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/Maximum-Country-India-again-unleashes-its-soft-power-on-US/articleshow/7582034.cms whether India would eclipse the lone super power in terms of the soft power the biggest democracy possessed. The strategic relationship between the two biggest democracies is an open secret now, however, the undercurrents present in certain areas can probably be nullified by balancing the hard power of US with the softer aspect of India. Contributions of Indian Americans to the US causes cutting across spheres is common knowledge, and it is therefore pertinent for both the giants to collaborate by leveraging their respective core competencies. Both the countries need each other, to put it point blank, the era of ‘When America sneezes, India catches cold’ has turned the other way round. This is proved by the high profile visit of Barack Obama and his announcements, to be firmed later with the follow up visits by his top administrators. In light of these developments its important to debate on the topic who is more important for US-India or China?
