It was indeed a fasinating platform for IT and Management professionals to converge in the MECIT Conference, held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman on the 22nd and 23rd of March 2011. The conference brought together a wide range of professionals from business organizations, educational fraternity, healthcare sector, entertainment, infotainment, tourism, agriculture and environnmental domain experts, not to forget the researchers from a cross section of  industries. They deliberated for two days, i.e. 22nd and 23rd of March 2011 on the usage, evolution and charting out the future roadmap of Information Technology, playing the all important role of an enabler, across professions and industries. The  proceedings included research papers, white papers, case studies, workshops, apart from keynote addresses from various experts. Yours truly, along with one of his very good friend-cum colleague presented a case study titled, “A Case Study on the Importance of Information and Communication Technology in the Indian Healthcare Sector”. In addition to knowing the latest in the field of IT, the role reversal of IT professionals, the new-age blending of Business/Management with Information Technology, it was indeed an honour to meet TEAM KNOWLEDGE OMAN, viz. www.knowledgeoman.com , where yours truly is a column coordinator and contributor since the last two years, apropos the commitment towards the society.Hearing one of the youth idol of the Sultanate of Oman, Tariq Al Barwani and meeting the team of www.knowledgeoman.com, i.e. Khalphan Al Mahrazy, Ms. Rym Aoudia and Ms. Su’aad was a great experience, especially when yours truly is part of the leading knowledge based portal of the Sultanate of Oman.
