The chapter titled, Venkatesh et al.’s Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) (2003) has been authored by yours truly and ex-colleague, cum friend, Mr. Salim Al Rashdi, now a research scholar in the UK.

The proposal was provided by the acting dean and assistant dean for academic affairs of Ibra College of Technology, Dr. Azzah Al Maskeri, who has also contributed one of the chapters in this book. Sincere thanks to her, being a mentor and also to the editors, and my co-author.

About the Contributors

Author(s)/Editor(s) Biography

Mohammed Nasser Al-Suqri is an Assistant Professor and the Head of the Department of Information Studies, Collage of Arts and Social Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University. He received his Ph.D. in Library and Information Management from Emporia State University, School of Library and Information Management, Emporia, USA; a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Pratt Institute, School of Information and Library Science, New York, USA; and a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science from Sultan Qaboos University, Department of Library and Information Science, Sultanate of Oman. Mohammed Nasser Al-Suqri conducts research in the area of user studies, knowledge management and sharing, digital libraries, and LIS education and collaboration in the Middle East.

Ali Saif Al-Aufi (BA, MLIS, PhD) is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Studies, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He received his MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh, USA in 2001 and his PhD in Information Management from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia in 2007. He is currently in the position of Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, College of Arts and Social Sciences. His research interests include information management, user studies, scholarly communication, social informatics, and philosophy of LIS. He has published research articles in international journals such as the Journal of Documentation, Library Review, and Librarian Hi Tech.
