The first seminar on the “importance of soft skills for the paramedical staff” of Tripura Medical College conducted on the 14th of August 2015 received an overwhelming response from the in-charges of various medical departments. It prompted the management of the institution, mainly, chairman, Mr. Banamali Sinha (Retired IAS), Hospital Superintendent,Dr. Prabir Kumar Saha and Matron Ms. Beena Thomas to conduct a bigger program for the larger audience comprising of staff across departments and yours truly obliged by conducting another seminar cum workshop, for no charge as his contribution towards the society of Tripura. The event titled, “Soft skills and its importance for the healthcare sector” conducted on the 20th of August 2015 was well received by the audience consisting of administrative and paramedical staff representing various departments and levels and they were fed on the knowledge diet of the meaning and importance of skills, the rationale for having soft skills as part of professional repertoire, myths surrounding soft skills and ways of busting them, techniques to develop soft skills, prerequisites for having soft skills in ones persona, along with related case and situation analysis. The interactive gathering posed various queries and largely dealt with their domain specific issues related to soft skills. The resource person thanks each and every individual for their wholesome contribution towards making the program a big success. Dr. Prabir hosted the event and also delivered the vote of thanks, while Mr. Banamali Sinha gave the welcome address.
